The connection performance, reliability and lifespan of the LCD screen

1.Life

Liquid crystal display devices have a very long service life both in theory and in practice, and there is no problem with hundreds of thousands of hours. If the common portable computer monitors are not artificially damaged, the backlight source is generally aging and the brightness is reduced. Replace a backlight tube to rejuvenate. Compared with other displays, whether it is PDP, OLED, FED, VFD, the lifespan is not as good as that of liquid crystal display. The material purification of OLED is difficult to solve, which affects its lifespan, while the lifespan of PDP is restricted by the aging of phosphor powder and the change of air pressure in the tube.

The only lifespan comparable to that of LCDs is inorganic LEDs. But it is difficult to make a flat panel display device.

2.Connection performance

The difficulty of connecting the outer leads of flat panel display devices lies in the high density, and some of them are made of non-metallic materials, such as ITO. This is the case with liquid crystal displays, for which a series of connection technologies have been developed with the development of liquid crystal displays, such as COB, COF, COG, etc. Can meet the requirements of use.

The connections of other types of flat panel displays generally follow the connection technology of liquid crystals and are modified according to their respective characteristics. For example, the connection of PDP must consider withstand voltage and prevent breakdown; while OLED must ensure that the connection resistance is as small as possible. In short, the external connection of liquid crystal display devices that work on low voltage is relatively easy to solve, and the external connection of those light-emitting display devices with high voltage and large current is relatively difficult.

3.Reliability

LCD has the highest reliability, as long as it is not dropped or damaged, it can be maintenance-free for ten years. While PDP is a high-voltage device, OLED is a current-mode device, and their reliability is not as good as that of liquid crystal display.
